Lead Platform Engineer (Staff): Series-A Funded Security Startup [Remote]

Shrunken Heads is partnered with a Series-A funded team to help them hire their Lead Platform Engineer who will own the creation of the scalable cloud-native infrastructure & systems required to rapidly & reliable scale to their increasing customer demand.

This sub-40 person company is building a privilege-driven SaaS product that streamlines access, improving software engineering effectiveness and the engineer experience, while providing significantly increased security controls & failsafes.

This remote-first team is looking for a strong, autonomous, and principled Software Engineer. You will drive large-scale projects, with timelines that may carry from quarter-to-quarter, while impacting the entire company’s ability to successfully meet future demand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Degree in Computer Science field (or similar)

• 5+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering (Platform or Distributed Systems), DevOps, SRE, or other analogous fields

• Team works mostly in Go (Golang), but open to those coming from Python, Java, C++, or similar

• Experience working within cloud-native environment (AWS, GCP, or similar)

• Proven experience architecting, implementing, and iterating within production systems at an enterprise scale

• A blend of experience in the following tools (or those similar):

  • Kubernetes

  • IaC (like TerraForm)

  • Database tools, like: Redis, PostgreSQL

DETAILS:

• Looking for Staff-level engineers, preferably with experience as Lead, Architect, or commensurate Senior+ level engineers with noted examples of high-ownership & high-impact leadership

• Remote-first team, but if you like Hybrid work, you’ll find heavy concentrations of the team in both SF & NYC

• Able to sponsor/transfer H1B (and F1/OPT)

• Open to hiring in US or Canada

• Compensation:

  • Salary: 190-230K (+/- DOE)

  • Other: Stock Options (ISOs)
